1. Who we are and scope

Free Tools is developed and published by FreeToolsLab. This policy applies to the Free Tools mobile application. The FreeToolsLab website has a separate website privacy policy.

Privacy contact: [email protected].

2. Data FreeToolsLab processes to operate the app

When the app runs and connects to the FreeToolsLab backend, we may process:

  • A random installation identifier created by the app that is not based on your name or phone number.
  • A Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token used to deliver notifications.
  • Platform, app version/build, app language and operating-system version.
  • Notification status, first/last activity timestamps and app-launch counts.

This data is used for notifications, version/maintenance control, compatibility and support. The app does not require a user account.

3. Firebase Analytics

Free Tools uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand usage and improve the app. When analytics is enabled, the service may collect an app-instance ID, app lifecycle events such as first open, sessions and screen views, general app interactions, device/app technical information, and coarse geographic information derived from a masked IP address.

Free Tools disables Android Advertising ID collection and ad-personalization signals for Firebase Analytics. Users can turn usage analytics off from the Privacy & Data page in the app settings.

4. Google AdMob and advertising

Free Tools may use Google AdMob to display advertising. Ads are off by default and FreeToolsLab can enable or disable them remotely from the app dashboard. When ads are enabled, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and share data such as IP address (which may be used to estimate coarse location), user interactions with the app and ads, diagnostic/performance information, and device or account identifiers including the Android Advertising ID when permitted and available.

Free Tools uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to present consent messages and privacy choices where legally required, and the app checks consent status before requesting ads. Depending on region, consent choices and Google settings, ads may be personalized, non-personalized, limited, or otherwise restricted.

Free Tools does not show ads at app launch. We use a small adaptive banner only in limited tool areas, and optional interstitial ads are frequency- and cooldown-limited to reduce disruption. Where required, users can open ad privacy choices from the in-app Privacy & Data page.

5. Notifications

Free Tools uses Firebase Cloud Messaging for optional push notifications. Firebase may generate a Firebase installation ID and FCM token and process app version and technical metadata needed to provide the service. Notifications can be disabled in the app or device settings.

6. Support messages, suggestions and bug reports

If you choose to contact us through the Support Center, we may process the subject, message, request type, ticket number, installation ID, app version, language and platform. Providing an email address is optional. You may also choose to attach an image.

For security and abuse prevention, our backend may store a one-way cryptographic hash derived from the IP address instead of storing the plain IP address in the support ticket record.

7. Files and content that stay on your device

Many features are processed locally whenever practical, including a large number of image/PDF operations and invoice, quotation and receipt generation. App settings, themes, favorites and business-profile data are also stored locally unless you use a specific online feature or intentionally share/send the content.

8. External services used only when you choose a related feature

Some tools must send content to an external service to perform the requested function. This occurs only when you use the related tool:

  • LanguageTool: text submitted for grammar/spelling checking.
  • Lingva/available translation providers: text submitted for translation.
  • Pollinations: AI image prompts and AI chat messages you submit.
  • OCR.Space: the image you select for OCR, using the API key you provide where required.
  • Cloudmersive: the PDF you select for conversion, using the API key you provide where required.
  • Market and sports data providers: the data request required to retrieve prices, fixtures, scores or statistics.
When you use an external provider, that provider's own privacy policy and terms may apply to data it receives.

9. How we use data

  • Provide the app and user-requested functions.
  • Deliver notifications and manage notification preferences.
  • Measure app usage and improve the product when analytics is enabled.
  • Respond to support, feedback and bug reports.
  • Security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting and version compatibility.
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations.

10. Data sharing

We do not sell user data. Data may be processed by service providers acting on our behalf, including Google Firebase and hosting providers, or by external services that you intentionally invoke as described above. We may also disclose information where required by law.

11. Data retention and deletion

Operational and support records are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, handle requests, maintain security, resolve disputes and comply with legal obligations. Data that is stored only on your device remains there until you delete it or clear/uninstall the app.

You may request deletion of data associated with your Free Tools installation or support tickets through the in-app Support Center or by emailing [email protected]. We may ask for a ticket number or enough information to locate and verify the record. No user account is required to make a deletion request.

Independent third-party services may retain data according to their own policies, and you may need to contact them directly where they act as an independent controller.

12. Security

Free Tools uses HTTPS/TLS when communicating with the FreeToolsLab backend, Firebase and the external services listed above. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to reduce unauthorized access and misuse. No electronic system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

13. Children's privacy

Free Tools is a general-purpose utilities app and is not intentionally designed to collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data inappropriately, contact us so we can review the request and take appropriate action.

14. Privacy rights and requests

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction or deletion, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent. Requests can be submitted through the app or the privacy contact shown on this page.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in the app, third-party services or legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised when material changes are made.
